Planning

An OPC Server Specialist will conduct an installation planning session with you to discuss your organisation’s server and network operating system needs.

Installation - We will provide installation of your server network operating software, including management tools, and tune your server and operating system for maximum performance.

Operational Verification - OPC will verify that your options are installed and correctly configured, and your servers’ operating system is operational to manufacturers recommendations.

Installation Record - We will provide you an installation record that documents your server configuration and installation.

Sizing & Design

Many years experience with our vendors products has given OPC IT extensive knowledge and excellent intuition in sizing and designing suitable server configurations.

OPC IT can recommend a suitable configuration that will meet your expectations i.e., reliability, manageability and flexibility. We specialise in the design and sizing of Application, File and Print, Communication based servers utilising high availability features like Hot-Swap and Hot-Plug Active PCI technology.

Support & Maintenance, Performance Tuning

OPC IT has invested in and currently maintains 2x PSE (IBM Professional Server Experts), 2x PSS (IBM Professional Server Specialists). This elite group enjoys many unique privileges, including enhanced support through the IBM HelpCenter and frequent information updates.

OPC’s Server specialists have undergone extensive manufacturer training to ensure that your IBM Server can be optimised and tuned to obtain the best possible performance at all times. OPC provides warranty and out of warranty service on all our servers and we have electronic links to manufacturers support centres and spare parts to ensure that we receive the most up-to-date information in a quick and timely manner. We also provide casual or preventative maintenance programs that ensure your equipment is kept running optimally throughout its useful life.

In addition, OPC is proud to provide Fully Certified technical expertise in Microsoft and Novell solutions.

Server & Storage Solutions

Integration

The Integration Centre is responsible for the preparation and build of either a single PC or can configure, build and deliver up to 150 units per day.

IBM Professional Server Experts and Specialists perform all server hardware integration. This ensures that your server and its options have been professionally configured and installed. With each server configured by an OPC IT PSE or PSS a build sheet is provided detailing the configuration, BIOS levels and testing results. OPC IT also offers a number of enhanced service options to get your server up and running quickly and free up valuable IT resources. OPC’s PSE and PSS technicians have been responsible for the configuration of over 500 servers since 1998 and have a proven record in this area of customer service.

Our Integration Centre services include

  • Imaging – The design, build and replication of images for single PC’s or major production rollouts.
  • Systems Assurance – Documented Quality Assurance procedures for all work performed.
  • Server Build – The design and build of server hardware and operating systems by qualified System Specialists
  • Asset Management – Asset labeling of hardware and electronic recording of asset information
